Cool grille mods?
What's everyone's favorite grille mod and how'd you do it? Specifically 1st gen LS. I've shopped around for a billet grille but everything I've seen is in the 3-400 range. Retrodrive or others; how'd you do yours? Looks awesome.

retro has a billet grille. Try trenz.com
they have grills for the 90-94 LS400.. i think retro poweder coated his black to get that look. And Lexkost removed every other bar to get his look. And theres one guy Kamtra (sp?) Used some wire mesh or something, it looks cool though.
I think the trenz grilles run around 200-300 shipped

I AGREE --wouldn't look good on a crappy car---
I am thrilled with it !!!!
The car has ALL new paint (3-stage), chrome wheels, basically a 'perfect' Gen 1 [and I wouldn't put just anything on].
You do have to cut the ends at matching side angles to make it look stock; which it does.
I can't imagine 3-M adhesive not being any good since that is what most ALL mfrs. use !!! Maybe your free ones didn't have the 3-M strips on them !!!!! Sure glad they didn't cost anything.
Oh, I do have the clear front turning lens--sorry to offend you------ probably don't like those either !!!!
Props to me---we don't have bugs here !!!!!!

probably took a couple of hours--one thing on the kit--the third bar up is 2 piece--this is to miss having to cut around the logo---I had to fill in this space with foam tape then install chrome tape over this area -----can't see that unless you look real close. but wanted to mention it. Would much preferred to have this bar a single piece then cut slightly around the logo myself.
Also, am not too sure that this chrome grill would look good on a dark color ie: black
would hesitate on that myself.
the clear frt parking lite kit is probably the best mod around for Gen 1--they generally run less than $30. on e-bay and that includes the DOT req. amber bulbs.

One of my CL friends had this grille in his old '90 LS (sorry for the low-quality pic). It was a grille he DIYed from Home Depot. I thought it matched well with the body color, and it really gleams on a sunny day, especially when looking at the rear-view mirror

persian, I'm not exactly sure what he did to the grille. He rarely comes on CL (hell I even forgot his alias!) All I remember mentioning when he had the LS back then was that he purchased some material at Home Depot and just replicated the look from the '98-'00 LS grille. Seemed to work well for $10 or so
