How to make alarm beep?
I have a 90 LS 400, and as you guys with the older generation Lexuses without aftermarket alarms may know, it's hard to know if you've locked or unlocked your doors. It's nice that if you've accidentally unlocked them, they will auto-relock in 30 seconds, but if you are too far to hear to power locks there is no effective way to tell if you are even in close enough range for the transmitter to work. I was thinking that there must be some way to custom wire the horn to honk or the lights to flash from the alarm box. I know the unit is located in the trunk, as I had to replace the key chip once, but I'm kind lost in all that wiring. I'm hoping somebody out there has the alarm experience or knows what they are doing. Is this idea at all feasible or should I just be saving for a good alarm?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You see, I don't actually have an aftermarket alarm. I just want to have the feature where the FACTORY disarm from the FACTORY remote sounds the horn or flashes the parking lights. The first generation LS didn't have this feature. Anyway, I got a wiring diagram from http://www.lextreme.com/ls90.pdf , and I'm thinking that I could cross the ground trigger of the disarm with the ground trigger of the horn. If I hit the disarm on the remote, it should also sound the horn too. The only downside would be that sounding the horn from inside the car would consequently disarm the alarm. . . does anyone have any idea if this would work or will I potentially be shorting out any circuits?
