Extended Warranty Sale thru Jan
Just to let you guys know there is some type of contest going on with Lexus dealers thru the end of January.
In shopping for Lexus extended warranties this week for my two 2007 vehicles, I called and email the top contenders regularly listed in this forum.
Toby Rivers at Lexus of Shreveport is providing very good pricing until Feb 1. I bought a Platinum $0 Deductible 8yr/75,000 warranty for each of my 2 vehicles at lower pricing than what has been posted here by others.
If you are considering this purchase in the near future, I suggest you call him for a quote now.

Thanks for the heads up. I am going to be getting the platinum 125k 8 yr plan. I was quoted 3600 by Troy Dietrich at Toyota of Greenfield. For the 100 k /8 yr it was $2600

Me too. It wouldn't take much service requirements to top the cost of the extended warrantee. Of course, on average, the cost of the extension will exceed the cost of repairs. Lexus isn’t in business to lose money.

Like any other form of insurance, most people won't have to use it. The insurer will make money selling the policies, but they will have to pay claims when insured policy holders have a loss.
I expect to buy an extended warranty before my four years are up as I will be keeping my car for at least eight years. If virtually anything breaks on these cars you're talking about at least $1000 in repair costs between parts and labor. Someone posted here that it cost them something like $5000 to replace a broken nav screen. Not to mention the policy covers unlimited towing, substitute transportation and some travel protection.
BTW, I don't take this view with almost all the various electronic device extended warranties. Typically the pricing on them is too high in relation to the reliability, useful life and replacement cost of the item.

Here's my view, if you're on this forum, you would benefit from a warranty.
Here's why....
If you're on this forum, it shows that you do your research, so because of that, your going to have two benefits from Joe Lexus Buyer. One, you know to do the research to find the best price for your extended warranty, so you are already going to save $1000+ over a regular consumer. Two, you know all the (important) TSB's that everyone else either thinks may be normal or doesn't know it could be better (seat cushion, wind noise, VSR, etc). Being able to get these things done free of charge is nice.
So, if you're on here asking about one, do your research and just buy one. I think you'll come out ahead in the long run.

I posted the original on my way out of town to hopefully have some others save some money.
Apparently not, based on the $1795 price. Also received the price from Jerry for $1765.
Guess Toby was a little more unsure of winning the Lexus event when he quoted mine
Sorry if it didn't work out for others.
