All I know is that the transmission computer is adaptive and adjusts to your style. When they do the recall, the whole car is reset to factory settings. So that process begins again. The learning is a function of the entire driving history, so it doesn't normally change in a few days, but when the car is new and there is no driving history, it adapts pretty quickly.

my understanding is all they do is disconnect the battery which resets the ECU. Could you not just disconnect your Negative terminal any time you like and let it sit overnight and then drive to your liking?

Generally its not a good idea to disconnect the battery. It also requires recalibrating the parking sensors and a bunch of other setup things which are time consuming. This was all done by the dealer during the recall.

if you have faulty valves, will engine not turn over?

can it be from excessive oil in air intake system?

What do you mean by "faulty valves"? The recall was due to some bad springs that went into a few cars and they got proactive in replacing the springs. Not sure if valves were included. If a spring breaks and a valve drops, the engine might turn over but won't start. And there will be some damage in the cylinder that the valve dropped into.
