Do what I did; tell Lexus you've been really annoyed at the operation of your Nav system especially the "I Agree" screen, and this has tarnished your image of Lexus. Tell them there are discrepancies in the POIs and streets that have changed years ago that are not even reflected in the version your car came with. If the "I Agree" feature was such a wise idea, why have they removed it in 7.1. That approach got me a free upgrade for me on my previous 2007 SWB, and it should yield the same results for you, or anyone for that matter. Put your foot down, and Good Luck!

For the reason you stated, 7.1 was a "significant" upgrade. Now that sales are down more than 25% and the 8.1 update is primarily for some extra roads and POI's only, I think with will be harder to get it for free from the dealer.

I would think upgrading once every 3-4 years should be worth the price.

Between $250 and $299 -- depends on the dealer.

Only way I know to get it for "free" from the dealer is to spend lots and lots on Scheduled Maintenance -- (oh yeah, then it'll cost more than $299 -- LOL).
