Fix for the really poor voice recognition?
I notice in the service/diagnostic menu, there is a place to change the voice recognition (handsfree) settings. It appears to involve recording something (your voice, maybe?), since it has the same kind of record and stop buttons you see on YouTube or in WMP, etc.
Does ANYBODY know how to adjust the microphone sensitivity using this diagnostic?
Onepointon - how about you?
TIA for any help, since my VR is just unusable like it is.

I don't drive distracted. I pull over and use the touch screen. Or my wife uses it while I'm driving and use my bypass module. To each his own though. My voice command works great for everything else I need including hands free calling. "dial by name" or "dial by number" voice command works great.

I no longer have a wife. She died last year. I do not have your remote thingy either. My Lexus either does not support it, or I was not informed of it - no pun intended. It is also quite difficult to pull over to the side of the road and stop while on on a long bridge going across San Francisco Bay. I am frustrated that I paid good money for something that does not work well and according to some other comments, has never worked well. Example: I told it to find The Palo Alto Medical Foundation offices. It gave me a list of South American and Latin restaurants to choose from!
FYI: I just filed a formal notice about this with the NHTSA.

Lexus is not required to provide you with VR benefits. It's an option period. How is not finding a location in you vehicle a danger to you or other drivers? Should everyone with older cars that lack this feature file suit as well?
