Can't get the six CD changer to load a disc
Ok, my father has an LS460L with the Mark Levinson system.
When you press the load button, nothing happens. When you press and hold the button for a couple seconds, there is a beep, but the gate in the CD slot never drops down and the CD changer will not accept a CD.
Is there some other trick to this, or is his CD player broken?
Also, I have a feeling I am going to be helping him out with this quite a bit. On Saturday, I am picking up an ES350 UL for my wife. How similar are the two ML/Nav systems on the cars? If I learn the ES system, will I be able to walk him through doing things on his LS?
Thanks

That doesn't work. I don't remember if the Amber light flashed, but it definately does not accept a disc to load before or after the beep. We have followed what the manual says and it is not working as described.

Sounds like the thing is broken, had that happen to us on the Infiniti M45 our family got. I got it to take 1 disc after pressing the button etc many times until it took a disc, but then it was stuck as it wouldn't eject. Had the unit replaced and the faulty one sent out to get my CD back, which was mailed to me. Shouldn't be an issue, as long as the dealership orders a new CD player/head unit ahead of time. Good luck.

Ok I just bought an 06 is250 we love the car except for the fact that we can get the CD player to work. We read the owners manual and took it to the local audio shop and the Toyota dealer they both told us we they can do is pull it out and send it off. But the manual say to press the load button and the screen will say waiting and flash amber then it will turn green. It flashes amber and that's it. It never says waiting or anything. What do we do?!?!?

CD Player
If i read your msg correctly this is an 06. That means it is 7 models years old. Things break! Before I would replace it with an expensive Lexus unit I would look for a new Kenwood or Alpine unit which will sound just as good and be a lot cheaper. I am assuming this is not a ML audio system.

CD/Nav system
I read your post again and I see it is an ML system. If you have no extended warranty, I would go aftermarket as the ML system is extremely expensive to buy or to have worked on by your Lexus dealer.
