Depending on who you ask, some may say 60k, some 80k.
Some may say don't change it at all, but as you stated, that simply doesn't sit well with me, given the amount of molecular break down that occurs due to immense heat from the moving components.
I would look into changing the fluid out.
Thanks for the response guys. I sure would like to see Lexus have something about this. It may be worth a call to Lexus Corp...

Not a problem here, just adding my two pennies!
I have an older LS, an 07, and the Service Manager said to change it out at 100k.
So in response, I asked "Is there a reason that its not mentioned in the Owners Manual?"
He was sure that it was, then asked to see my manual and sifted for a good 10 minutes... Nothing.
I know based off of what Roadfrog has stated on numerous occasions, that in Canada, it says that the trans fluid is to be changed out at either 60k or 80k-I cant recall, and he owns an 08.
Perhaps its been said before, so my apologies ahead of time for any redundancy, but anyone with a newer LS, lets say '10+, what does the manual state regarding the servicing of the trans fluid?

Do you have a LS600? I am pretty sure the regular 8 speed will need a flush at some point. If I wasn't clear, I am asking specifically if the CVT needs to be flushed. Thanks.

crowe14--I have a 2012-no mention in maint. manual to change-lifetime-but I changed it around 65k 'cause I plan on keeping it for at least 200k. Just my 2 cents.

No, I don't, jus the regular 460L.
I think you were clear, is was just my mishap in accurately reading what you composed, my mistake and apologies.

The dealer did it yesterday, they drained and refilled the fluids in my CVT and both diff's (no flush). Total cost: 285 Euro's
And the result?
At higher speeds (70Mph+) i felt a vibration, thats almost gone now.
Manouvring the car in tight corners is also much smoother now.

Even though manual says its 'lifelong' fluid, I will replace on mine soon (may be at 50k, 5 years). GX has similar transmission, had already replaced it 3 times 30k, 90k and at 120k. For me its a cheap insurance.

Good plan. That's about the same intervals I'll be going with. I think I'm due for another drain/fill soon. As I've said before, "Lifetime fluid" is a moniker that's only used in the US market. My manual does not use the same terminology, and further, specifically requires routine trans fluid changes, (96k kms) as is the case in the Euro market.

I've got an '09 AWD LS with 95k miles on it. My Lexus dealer flat out said they won't service/replace the tranny fluid because it's lifetime. Strange they would turn away business on a fluid change/flush. I may go to an independent and do it.

What fluid do you guys use for a drain/fill and how much would you need? Thanks.

As Johnny said, WS (World Standard). And as he also pointed out. Toyota dealer is the place to go. That's where I had mine done. I paid 149 dollars (canadian), or so.
