OT: what do you do? (career)

Agreed with the advice given in this thread, if you really want a Lexus, you probably are better off looking for a more affordable model at this point in time. Good luck with your medical career! That field can be quite lucrative, as you know, and an LS is likely in your future should you wish.

Graduated in Dec 07 from the US, got back to my country and started up a small business.
My family's car, which I had been using since I got back home, totally broke down and it was the time to buy a new car.
I withdrew $55K from my business and bought a fully loaded LS460 08 with 10K miles on it.
For me I'm not going to change my car soon. I'm going to stick to it till my business thrives and I take car of essential things in life (marriage, house, ...etc).
The way I look at it is this: I don't want to wait till I get towards the winter season of my life to buy the car of my dreams. At the same time I'll never sink in debts for a luxury car. So the solution was to work very hard, make some money and buy the car I really love to own, which what happened.
Could be an unwise decision, I don't know. But I've enough courage to get my business on its feet again.
Hope you get your LS sooner than what you are expecting. Please note that Lexus "might" do some changes on the design of LS in 2010. So it might be a good idea to wait for 2010 and buy one either new or pre-owned.
Good luck!
-Edit:
Forgot to say: what encouraged me even more was the attractive prices when I bought my car. At the peak point of the current financial crisis, LS460's were sold for very attractive prices which convinced me to go ahead with buying it.
In my country, a new standard LS460(without any of the options) would have cost me $83K which would have been impossible to pay.
Good luck!

Have owned a total of five Lexus, but did not get my first one until I was 47, all have been purchased used off three year leases. Stay with buying pre-owned and let the first owner take the big depreciation. Please don't get in over your head with bills, pay off your student loan and find a profession you love! Good Luck!
