Parking sensor part 8934150050-a1
20005 Lexus LS 430 Ultra Luxury
Any ideas if there is a reset function when a parking sensor stays on. I had a slight bump on front bumper, now has two bars in center of bumper and beeps when stopped. Goes off when going around 4 of 5 mph. Does not beep while driving but does when almost stopped and completely stopped. Doesn't beep in reverse and seems to work ok with rear sensors. The Dynamic Cruise Control is ok.
If I have to replace it, does the bumper have to come off?

There's no "reset" per se. Push "P" sensor button on left side dash to turn off the sensors. Then push in to activate. The sensors are pretty sensitive and can be glitchy. Try cleaning the inner circle / ring of the front of the sensor with soap and water and a soft detail brush. If the sensor has to be replaced, it's my understanding the bumper comes off to gain access.

I know on mine, I had a situation where it was almost like the paint had slightly cracked from age on the sensors themselves and it caused it to intermittently go off. I would occasionally hit the sensor with my fist and it would seem to stop doing for several months.
I then finally peeled the paint off as best I could on the ones that had slight cracking and it hasn't been a problem since. If you see some cracked paint, it might be worth a shot. Fortunately for mine the color with the paint off blended in to the dark bumper. Might not look good if its a white car and you have black sensors underneath.
