Default One piece vs two piece exhaust

Is there any benefit or negative impact having a fully welded one piece exhaust vs having a 2 or 3 piece exhaust with flanges or v band clamps? I am going to get my exhaust made and i was arguing with the guy at the shop he was telling me that "on all the turbo hondas i have made exhausts for a 2-3 piece exhaust is better then one solid piece it gives it better performance" i call bull**** can anyone confirm or tell me i am wrong? I searched google but only found things on 1 vs 2 piece headers.

Can't speak on a performance level but I can tell you that the installation process will be much easier with a multi piece set up. With that said you will also have more places for exhaust leaks to occur. I would think the performance would be the same either way unless you were doing some sort of dump valves right after the cats

All i am doing is having a 2.5 inch exhaust made from the 2 front cats back with greddy revolution rs mufflers. I personally want it one piece so i dont have to **** around with the coilovers to raise and lower it to make it easier to jack up and change two stupid *** gaskets.

Without going into combo details one benefit of a multi section exhaust is the ability to mix and match. Some branded mid pipes produce different results in either sound and/or performance. The 2is section is big on the mix and match exhaust setups. I've been lurking yahoo japan and a lot of their stuff is straight pipes... Def beastly but better off paying cash at a shop for a custom setup after smog.

I live in NY so no smog and yah i allready looked into it custom made out of stainless with an x pipe is the way to go 2.5 inch piping to gain power in the upper rpm's cause or cars are heavy as **** we are not winning many dig races, 30-40mph rolls and we are good to go haha. Also anybody know anything about the 2 front cats? Just how restrictive are they if at all.
