Default Akebono Rear Pads Amazon 14 bucks

I picked up Centric Rotors, hardware kits rear sesnor and new Akebono pads 48 bucks. Also got "used, very good condition maybe damaged packaging" for 14 bucks Figured I would possible send sensor back and one pair of pads but how could they sell used pads from a liability standpoint.

Anyway 14 dollar pads came wrapped tight in a undamaged package with grease and both sets are brand new identicle..

Am I missing something here seems too good to be true? All was free shipping and I can ship it back on works dime.

Hip resurface surgery went perfect so far.

If you got the ceramic versions be aware that the Akebono ceramic pads need to be warmed up before they start to grip. I have them in the SC and even in "sunny Calif" when cold they do not grip too well.

Wow, this would not be good in Wisconsin, Warmin ... check to make sure you don't have Akebono ceramic pads.

It is highly likely that the OEM pads are ceramics and made by Akebono, so I would not worry about it at all.

Approximately half of all vehicles rolling off the assembly line are manufactured with Akebono brakes. Akebono has approximately 40% of the Original Equimpent market and is factory installed on 270+ models. Akebono's OEM customers include: General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi Motors, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and Isuzu.

The company’s commitment to innovation, process improvement, quality control and customer service has positioned it as a key resource for leading OEMs, Tier I brake suppliers and the automotive aftermarket. Key automotive OEM customers include Audi, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen.

Akebono’s advanced friction formulations are used to manufacture the best brake disc pads and linings in the world. As a pioneer of ceramic friction technology, Akebono is proud to manufacture 100 percent of its aftermarket brakes in the USA.

Engineered to eliminate noise, vibration, and harshness, Pro-ACT Ceramic Disc Brake Pads provide the ultimate braking experience. The best replacement for restoring OE ceramic pad performance, Pro-ACT Ceramic Disc Pads are also ideal for upgrading from conventional pads.

I found zero difference in braking between OEM pads and the Akebono Pro-ACT 870/871 aftermarket ceramic pads. If I recall correctly, the pads looked like they were formulated exactly the same - they just had different anti-squeal shims. If they don't grab properly, try using brake cleaner on the pads and rotors - even a tiny bit of grease from not handling the pads or rotors carefully can affect your braking, although grease will usually burn off after lots of braking and high enough temperatures.

I do alot of HWY miles. Thanks Stan you are always on top of things, I was pleased they are US made.

Tyey where off the board as soon as I bought them. They sat there for over a week though before I got em. Plan on looking for other used type parts in the future when it looks plausible to get as good as new. Even rotors 41 bucks shipped they are heavy.

Default Free Raybestos Brake Wear Sensor

I ordered 2 above brake sensors from Amazon. I tried to return one and they accepted the return for 9.47 but saifd no need to return sensor. OK fine I can deal with that. MAybe costs more to put it back in stock than 9.47?
