Maybe a dumb question. If you are considering a'05 LS and the tuba is an issue, why don't you just try putting it in the trunk?

If its doesn't fit in the 430, you can get a trunk rack
I don't understand how tuba's work, so can't tell if you can transport it on a rack or not.
I wonder how the trunk rack would look like on the 430 though...

Yeah, because she's little, she has a big case with wheels. It's kinda big, so I have to do some checking.

Just find a LS430 for sale nearby at some dealer, go with the Tuba, and see if it fits or not. Simple.
