if the car is parked over 2 hrs or more. I then must insert the smart into the ignition to be able to start the car. The door handle lock/unlock button doesn't function. The red and green key lights below the instrument panel kept on flashing. This problem started after I recharged the dead battery in the car. Any idea what is causing this problem? maybe a low battery inside the smart key?

I replace the smart key battery every 12 months...

problems seem to show up after our cars battery starts to go south,you may need a new car battery and it wouldnt hurt to change your fob battery also.

The problem was a dead battery inside the smart.
