Unhappy Visual touch Display does not respond to touch

I have a 2004 Lexus LS430 with only 80,000 miles. A few weeks ago I tried to change radio stations with the touch screen display but it did not respond to my touch. I can't even use the menu to go to different screens (GPS, Heater controls, A/C controls). I'm wondering if I can purchase a new touch screen to resolve the problem or am I just screwed? What part(s) do I need to replace/repair the screen. Other than that, is there any other way to set the A/C or Heater controls. Other than that the car runs perfectly and has no other problems.

Any suggestions???

Pull the negative on the battery for a min and then reinstall. This will do a soft reset. There is also a test mode you can go into. Turn car on hold down the menu button and quickly turn on and off your parking light 3 times will holding down the menu button. This will bring up a display test program. To fully exit turn off the vehicle. There are various menu's. Just go through it. You can also calibrate the touch screen if working.

Default touch screen not working

Thanks for the advice but I finally had to take my LS430 to a dealer for the screen problem. they had to replace the screen. Cost about $1700.00. New (actually refurbished) screen works like a charm. Bit expensive but I'm glad I had it repaired. Can anyone tell me how to turn of the Navigation screen. If I'm listening to the radio, after about 30 seconds the navigation system automatically comes on.

You'll find this feature under options and screen settings, or under menu then screen settings. You can toggle it off from there.

Golly that is expensive, I would've went with an aftermarket screen instead.

I was thinking about this too when mine breaks one day, but it has system functions on it...Bluetooth, rear A/C, my MD changer (vais tech SL3B), etc...
