Aftermarket back up camera
Help desperatley needed. I recently purchased a 2004 LS 430 with Nav. A aftermarket backup camera(Audiovox) was installed. During the day the camera works good. At night or in a dimley lit parking garage it is virtually useless. Over 2/3's of the nav screen is so bright that you can't see anything behind you.
The installer has replaced camera and the problem continues. Please help. Thanks

Your car is prefilt? It had rear camera as original equipment?
If not, you have probably navtool etc. or another AV composite to RGBs converter. You should be able to adjust brightness on converter.

It did have the OEM camera but was apparently destroyed during detaiiling of the car prior to taking delivery. I have even covered lens with painters tape and the same 3/4 of nav screen is useless. Thoughts?

I suppose there is a problem with aftermarket camera parameters. Maybe it have lighter lens.
I am afraid you can not calibrate camera ECU and it is calibrated for OEM camera.
Only thing you can do is to use dark tinted foil or look for used LS430 OEM camera.

Pole Position
As mentioned, I would browse the net for a used OEM camera. There are salvage places that carry loads of Lexus parts. I was able to nab a driver side mirror for almost a third of the MSRP.
