2005 LS430 base model.

I just rebuilt the front end on both sides. New shocks/coils, upper and lower control arms and ball joints. All went pretty well (watched a heck of a lot of YouTube videos). Did the passenger's side, drove it, all fine. Did the driver's side and now have a bizarre screeching noise, sounds like metal on metal. I actually recorded it on the off chance someone says "oh, I've heard that before, its...." So, when taking a right turn moving forward only - doesn't happen in reverse - I hear the noise. It's a screeching noise...sounds metal on metal...almost like something is rubbing against the rotor.

Two notes on the recording: 1) I held my wired headset out the window while driving through two right turns at 10ish mph. 2) Sorry for the pause between the first and second screech examples, but I had to drive the length of the block. The noises are at :05 and :54. It sounds like something is rubbing on the rotor but I didn't do anything to it.

Going to tear it all down and inspect everything - except the rotor - I've no experience with those. By the way, I am positive everything is torqued to spec. Had a checklist diagram and everything.

Any and all help appreciated. Please keep descriptions of any problems/solutions as clear as possible...admittedly a noob, here.

Sounds like something out of a scifi movie. I don't know, best guess is thin metal grinding against metal with much greater mass like splash shield on rotor. Should be able to duplicate by raising the wheel and rotating with the steering wheel in different positions.

Probably the backing plate touching the rotor. They bend easily.

That actually makes sense. I wasn't gentle using the floor jack to reposition the wheel/steering knuckle. Going to go out and take a look now.
