Ordered an Vaistech MML where have u installed yours?
Hi Members,
So I've finally got around to ordering a Vaistech MML IPOD/USB unit for my 04 LS430 .
Installation looks reasonable simple, I just have to be very careful removing stuff to get to the back of the factory radio, but I have a question.....
This MML unit/box is larger than the other Vaistech units so where has everyone installed their's? Glovebox? Behind the dash?
Any pics or descriptions of where you fitted the actual unit/box would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Installed my unit behind the dash, beneath the stereo/radio unit. Led the lead behind the dash into the glovebox. My iPod sits on the shelf. Put the iPod in a silicon type sleeve so it doesn't tend to slide around. My iPhone connects by blue tooth. Couldn't have worked out better, never having to physically touch anything.

I installed mine behind the radio to the right (passenger side) corner. There's room. Trial and error process. I also bought a USB extension port to run the USB connection into the center armrest (not glove compartment) for easy access and professional-looking installation.

Thanks everyone for the replies so far. My vaistech mml arrived yesterday and its actually smaller in size than I thought . I have holidays in about a weeks time so I plan on tackling the install then. Hopefully there will be enough room behind the dash to fit the unit and I plan on running the usb through into the pop out tray drawer in the centre just below the radio.
Any other tips or advice is welcome!

UPDATE:
So I finally installed the Vaistech MML unit. Getting to the back of the factory stereo was quite easy thanks to a guide I found on here. I only encountered 2 problems -
1. I forgot to disconnect my battery whilst doing the install and I flattened it so had to wait a day while I recharged it!
2. Where to mount the unit? It definitely wouldn't fit behind the radio despite it's fairly small size so I ended up installing it in the underside panel on the passenger side - there was just enough room under the panel.
I wanted to run the USB cable to the pop out drawer under the radio but I found that the drawer is sealed at the back and I didn't want to start drilling a hole into the back of it, so I ran the usb cable to the glove box and again I didn't want to drill a hole so I ran the usb cable through the air filter cover door in the glove box. The air filter cover door still closes ok so I have the cable and my USB plugged in the glove box.
I 've set up the Vaistech MML in 'MD emulation' mode and it works well, but still getting used to the buttons to press on the nav screen and I still haven't worked out exactly the best way to put files in folders on the usb stick so they play like different CD discs!? At the moment I just have all my MP3's in 1 folder on my USB stick. I'll try and work it out later but all in all it works and I'm happy.
