'06 LS430 cabin air filter cover -- suggestions for locating one?
I'm a relatively new Lexus owner (1½ years). Earlier today I was replacing the cabin air filter (aftermarket Denso carbon). Unfortunately, as I sometimes do, I wasn't paying as close attention to the process as I should have, and I broke off the two tabs on the cover when trying to put it back on. (It's the white plastic inner cover, not the black one at the back of the glove box.)
My dealership said that part isn't sold separately; in fact, they didn't even have a part # for it. Right now there's none on eBay and the two big auto parts dealers where I live (Grand Rapids, MI) don't have anything, either. Does anyone have a suggestion or three about how I can go about trying to locate that part? Thanks.

Thanks. By "auto parts dealers" I meant "salvage yards." Sorry about that.
I've looked at car-part.com but that part doesn't appear to be listed. Do you (or does anyone here) know of a national directory that's searchable by year/make/model without having to include a specific part?

I would check with the larger parts departments like Sewell in Dallas or Pembroke Pines in FL. You couldn't have been the first to break those tabs and it doesn't make sense that their would not be a replacement. That said, there are a few recycle yards that specialize in Toyota/Lexus that you can find online, maybe give them a try.

Thanks, toddmorr. I'll invest a small amount of time into a search, but if I haven't located anything in a couple of days, I'll opt for the tape. It's good to know I don't have to worry no matter what the outcome.

Best bet may be to find an LS on ebay that someone is parting out and email the seller.
I did this a few times and got some parts that were hard to find (suede pillar cover for my UL, was burned by a cigarette by the last owner).

Thanks, BT3100. It looks like there might be one. I'll check tomorrow and post back here.
