I'm about to start work on my driver side door actuator. Does anyone know if you can get the door actuator assembly out without taking out the window, or is that mandatory? I've never taken a window out before and am having a hard time finding a procedure that is 95/97 ls400 specific.

It's supposed to come out without removing the window but when I changed mine I could not wiggle it out of the tight space so I removed the window which made it so much easier.

In order to take out the actuator, you don't need to remove the window but unscrew the hexa-bolt which holds the rail. Then you can take it out.

yep, on my 95-97's I did not have to remove the glass, like Yamae ,I just removed the lower bolt and it came right out... you can see it is in your way....
