Integrated cell Phone - Forget it!
I purchased the new integrated cell phone for my 2003 Lexus with navi. Save your money! Most of the phone features do not work because Lexus shuts them down when the vehcile is moving. Imagine for $2500.00 that you get NO ability to enter your phonebook. NO ability to send tones to reach an extension or retrieve messages. NO caller ID even though it is showing on the phone, it is not connected to the navi screen. No ability to dial 411 or 911. NO way to use the three steering wheel buttons for a preprogrammed number, because the first one is designated for Voice Mail but since you can't use tones, you can't retrieve messages. WAIT until you see the Mickey Mouse antenna with adhesive that sticks on to your rear window and looks like something fell off inside the vehicle. The list goes on thanks to Lexus imposing their own standards for our security!
Nokia reps state they have discussed many of these issues with Lexus, but Lexus will not budge.
How about mandatory seat belt use before the vehicle starts if they are so concerned?
How about letting me decide what's best for me for my own safety?
SAVE THE MONEY. I AM RETURNING MY EQUIPMENT AND REMOVING THE INSTALLATION.

Waste of time anyway...
...because here in the UK the government plans to make it totally illegal to use a mobile, whether hands free or not, while you have the engine switched on in your car !!!
This country is becoming a bit of a nanny state, but stats suggest too many accidents and fatalities are attributable to phones use while driving.

I'm guessing Lexus doesn't want to have to deal with allegations that the absence of safety restrictions on their car phone system (and NAV system) lead to reckless/inattentive driving. There's already enough commotion over phone use during driving causing accidents and fatalities.
You're better off with a stand-alone cell phone and a good, aftermarket hands-free setup.
