Default how to fit 17" GS400 rims on 97 LS400?

Hello eveybody im new to the forum and I recently picked up a cheap pair of GS400 17x8 wheels off a 98, and im pretty sure they will fit on my 97 LS400 with the same bolt pattern but I heard that the front brakes might rub on the rim, I allready purchased the wheels and want to try and make them fit so my question would be will spacers prevent from rubbing and if so what size spacer and brand is safe and reliable? Thanks

Welcome to Club Lexus.

15mm front is a safe size and 12mm may also work. To balance the rears 20-25mm. H&R isa favorite along with Project KICS. I have the Ichiba on the rears of ours and they are popular as well.

confirm first if the wheels will rub on the calipers. i'm thinking GS400 wheels should have ample clearance but i may be wrong. confirm first that you need spacers before buying them.

i personally like H&R best but it depends on the size of spacer, 10mm 15mm etc. anything bigger than 5mm, extended studs should be used which is included in the H&R kit. installing the studs is the second hurdle.

Yeah I was thinking about just trying to fit before I buy, I just did research and I found that the ucf20 will need spacers for other lexus wheels because of its big calipers. Whats the hurdle with installing the studs?

I know this thread is about a year old, but I was wondering if you were able to clear the calipers with gs400 wheels? Pics?

2GS wheels won't clear the brakes.
