I'm about to give up searching for an affordable replacement for my '97 LS400 wheels. The paint is flaking off in several places, and I am looking for a nice, OEM replacement.

Sorry no dubs or bling blings for me. I just want to replace the crappy looking stock wheels with something cost effective.

Will 2000 GS400 wheels (17") fit a '97 LS400 without any issues?
I am assuming that since they're both rear wheel drive platforms the backspacing and offset should be about the same.

Yes they will.
All Lexus wheels have the same bolt pattern, thus they are interchangable.

Hi Lou Le. I understand that the bolt pattern is the same, but that doesn't guarantee that the wheels will physically fit. What about the offsets? Would there be any reason to believe that the 16x7s on my car have a different offset than the GS400's 17s?

You might have problems with the front,but the rears will fit for sure.


I have seen 18's from a 98 GS 400 on to a 96 LS 400 and the front rims will rub against the caliper.

Yeah, it all depends on which rims your getting.
Just make sure the offset is +38 or more.
Anything smaller then +38 will rub against the calipers and anything larger then +45 will more then likely rub the fenders.

The rim from the GS400 will not fit the front of the 97' LS400 because the LS400 have a 4 pistons caliper on the front and it will damage the rims.

Thanks for the info, I ended up finding a mint set of '99 LS wheels....
