exhaust leak question
'93 LS 400 with about 105K miles has exhaust leak. I was told it was coming from the junction in front of catalytic converters on both sides and also behind the c converters.
I bought the metal framed O ring gaskets and am ready to change them out.
Has anyone else done this job before for exhaust leak? The car is noisy and stinky because of
this problem.... seems to run ok, may be a bit anemic

Haven't had to touch the exhaust system on my LS yet, but i have done it on many other Toyota's prior to this one. Two suggestions:
1: WD-40 THE HELL out of the bolts several times, and let it sit for awhile before you touch anything. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the hardware with new ones if they are corroded or in bad shape (which they certainly might be after you start screwing with them)
2: Wear safety glasses of some sort. The exhaust usually has alot of corrosion and other nasty bits that tend to rain down once you start working on it. Keep that crap out of your eyes!

I understand how to remove the bolts, have air impact gun that will just snap them loose or break them off and will of course replace them. BTW WD40 is about useless for this purpose, its PB blaster that loosens rusted bolts.
I thought perhaps someone else who had this exact issue and solved the problem by replacing the Oring gaskets might chime in...
thanks
