No spark on driver side plugs
Need some help! The driver side plugs all 4 has no spark. Changed coils, plugs, wires, cam shaft sensor. I'm thinking of replacing distributor cap and rotor, and I heard the crank shaft position sensor? anybody faced this problem before. Car is basically running on 4 cylinders. Did compression tests and all ok with that. car is a 92. Mechanic says that there is spark from the coil to the distributor, but no spark coming out of the plugs. Any Advice. Thanks

Sounds like a power transistor in the ignition unit is causing the minor internal leak. Or the clamp diode in parallel with the transistor is doing so. In these cases, the arcing occurs at the ambient but not at the compressed air in the cylinder.

im def. not going to dispute what ur saying yamae. do a ripple test, ive never heard of the ecu causing only 1 bank to not fire..especially in a pre obd2 car..doesn't mean anything other than ive yet to hear of it.
next:it cant be the distributor cap or rotor..each distributor is related to both banks. this was already covered previously by another member having a similar issue.

Ok guys this is what was the test results. Distributer is good, There is spark at the wires. but no spark in the cylinder. Mechanic did all the checks and compressions is good on all cylinders. He is saying it might be electrical, like something is shorting out. Im thinking of taking it to a shop that specializes in electrical work. Any advice?

It only makes sense when the secondary voltage is not high enough. It requires only 1kV to travel electrons for a 1mm gap at ambient. But in the compressed air such as at 10 ATM, more than 10 kV is needed to have a good spark. Did you check the leakage?
