I have checked and rechecked the seals on both cars and the 95 got totaled last week so that problem is fixed However the 98 does the same damn thing and a google search did not really turn up anything useful but this has to be a common issue of some sort since both cars did this and no rust on either car.
Only thing I can see is maybe the tail light seal shrinking and letting water in?
Thoughts?

Once I have tried it alone when it was raining badly. I used my remote key to open the trunk but the wet key didn't work well. I was a bit scared but my wife helped me. I realized that my wife preferred getting the life insurance money to me myself. She could have enjoyed her rest of the life without listening to my complains.

The best way to confirm the leaking point is to watch it from inside of the trunk. But be careful not to suicide yourself.

Using paper towels on the trunk floor just under the seal also will show the area of leakage. The place I notice most leaks in other cars is the top portion of the trunk seal. Use LScowboy's Shin Etsu grease to keep them soft. But even after a spell and as old as these cars are now, a fresh trunk seal is a worthwhile purchase. Get it while the getting is good or you may have to improvise. That goes for the door weather seals too.
