rear defrost button !?
I have a '95 Lexus LS400 blk/blk, nakamichi and adjustable suspension. The Rear defrost button on the center dash sometimes will not work. If I turn off the climate controll system and and the restart it, sometimnes that will trigger it to work again. Just half the times, nothing happens when I press it. The other half of the time it works perfectly. Help, I live in Seattle and it's winter!!!
additionally, I had the switch for the steering wheel drop motor replaced 2 years ago because it wasn't dropping down properly. Still, however, Occationally it will only come down part way and stop. I then have to manually finish it, or turn off the key and starting it again.
The switch was only 80 dollars, but could there be something else I am missing before I have them re-replace it? I have talked to the shop and they are retiscent to provide a new one under warrantee, even though I called them about it not 2 months after the repair.
Advice?

You may have a bad rear defost switch and the contact on the switch is going bad. But it's part of the A/C control unit.
Your steering telescopic and tilt buttom' problem is on the Lexus TSB. There the wires under the steering column that was too short especially if you adjust your telescopic all the way out. This cause the connector make a poor contact to the tilt/telescopic motors. The solution is lentghen the wire harness by un wrap some electrical tape and reposition the harness.
PM Sooner and ask him about the steering problem.

Thanks so much for the info. I will try fixing the steering wheel myself this weekend. I phones Lexus of Seattle and was confirmed that the panel ia all one part and costs around $700.00. :-( damn!
unless I can see a way to open it up myself and clean a contact, I will probably go for it though. I need to replace a bulb back there anyway for the illumination.
Thanks again!
