Remote lock & power mirrors broken... Coincidence?
Hi I am new to this forum and Lexus cars in general. I'm trying to fix the remote lock and unlock feature on a 1993 LS400 and have tried:
Replacing the battery in the remote
Spraying contact cleaner on key, and receiver ROM chip (also cleaning the circuit board)
Cleaning all connections including the remote unlock on/off switch near the parking brake release
After cleaning the on/off switch I realized the power side mirrors both do not work. Since the two switches share the same plastic panel in the car, is it possible that there is a shared circuit board that has gone bad? Or are they controlled separately?

check all fuses, especially the ones inside the car.
then once fuses have all been verified, disconnect negative battery cable for 1 hour, reconnect and then see if problem is resolved - if not, then scan for codes using this method
PS - do not spray anything on your key, unless it is thoroughly dry with no residue before going back into your ignition switch - the ignition switch does not like cleaners or lubricants.

Thanks for the advice. I checked all the fuses including the ones under the steering wheel and the ones under the hood and they are all fine. Then I disconnected the battery for over an hour. No luck with the key remote. I will try checking the codes when I have a chance.

did the remote unlock work when you got the car? or did it come that way?
