Battery? Clicking when trying to start - Help Me Please!!!
Recently experienced power shortages with thesound system. It would cut in and out consistently but tend to stay on when im on the gas. Today I get in the car and try to start it but get nothing but rapid clicks....Everything lights up but the steering wheel does not deploy out as it usually does. What could be the cause of this? 2000 Lexus LS400

Rapid clicks I would assume that your battery is drained and not deliver enough juice to crank the car. Also, check your battery terminals and make sure they're tighten and offer good contact, and if it is i'd have your battery tested. Does your headlight dim when you apply the brake coming to a stop? Check the batter, get it tested and check the terminals first.

Battery for sure... but what's the cause... alternator failure? Death of battery due to age/temperature degradation. Measure the volts at the battery... and see it's got enough?

Check battery, battery terminals for being loose and corroded, all connections to the starter if everything is good can you jump start the car??,,, with the clicking sound it is battery or loose/corroded connection... if is ONE CLUNK when you turn the switch then check the STARTER in MY experience.... Good Luck... let us know
