Default Groaning noise in brake pedal

I have noticed the groaning noise getting a little worse as of late. You only hear it when the brake pedal is released and is returning back to its position at rest. I tried searching but was unable to find any definitive answer. Is it linkage or possible a bushing makes this groaning sound?

if the strut rod bushings are recent and the fluid is in decent shape and the shims are in place on the pads then you probably need the calipers rebuilt, the seals are causing the noise.

This did not start until she saw cold weather. Funny, spending all her life where it's never cooler then the low 70's. I also have a slight groan starting in the steering column and know what part that is. Poor baby, making that trip back to the mainland and getting here in the winter, a mild one at that...

She has never had the brake fluid flushed. Only 76K though. Think that is worth it first?

is the sound coming from the brake pedal itself? you may just need to spray some lubricant on the pivot joints, could take less than 2 seconds

I will have to look and examine it more closely. Sure seem like it's coming from the pedal itself.

if it's anything like the sound I encountered it'll feel like it's coming from under the engine when you're in the car, not from the MC.

I only hear it from inside the car with the stereo off and windows up. And more cold weather related. There is no change in braking or feel.

Also, what's somewhat new and slightly more pronounced after lowering is pulsing sensation through the gas pedal at low rpm. Stop and go. Not there all the time but just at that small low rpm rang. I'm pretty positive that a sign the motor mounts are starting to go. Vibrations being transferred. I really don't think its the tb or linked. Plus I had the dealer de-carb it for me when I got the car.

So many bushes to replace....

try taking a look at the little push rod that connects the brake pedal to the master cylinder, there is a tight fitting rubber seal around it on the firewall and if it gets dry it'll make noise as it drags across the rod. I've seen it in several cars, one of them being a Lexus.

I found this on the rx350 forum. I think your on the right track Yoshi. I also have a slight groan in the steering column when it's particularly cold. All these new problems...

Had the same thing happen. However, our service order says they "lubricated both firewall steering shaft boot and steering rack control valve dust boot".
Since then groaning noise gone.

Funny you bring that up, as the car i was talking about, which was an ES300, needed that as well... Everytime she turned the wheel it made, for lack of better words, a flatulance sound, which cleared up immediately when i shot some silicone spray onto the shaft.
