Default Fuel Tank Pressure

I got in the Lexus (1997 with 200k) yesterday to go put fuel in it for my daughter. I noticed the smell of gas near the car and I smelled some inside. Got to the station and pulled the cap off and a lot of air blew out. There is always some but this time it was alot. Got home and looked under the car to see a tiny amount of what smelled like gas making a line moist (not dripping) where there appears to be a brace holding the fuel line before turning upward near the passenger side cat. Anyone else had this? Did the pressure cause some fuel to come out near the engine and run down the line? The odd thing is it seems to have stopped now. No more fuel smell. The car has always been in FL so there is no rust on it or any of the lines.
