Hello CL members, I have finally gotten myself around to posting an intro after getting my 99 LS400 about 6 months ago. I have long loved the LS and sometimes I still can't believe I now have one. I've been browsing the forums for a few years and even read through LexLS.com before I even bought mine. This is a great community and I look forward to being a contributing member as long as I have my LS (which is to say forever...).

My previous car was a 2000 Jeep Wrangler so I have now been at either end of the comfort/luxury spectrum. I loved that Jeep but it was time to move on. Enough about me, more about my LS.

1999 LS400
85k
$9,800
Baroque Red Metallic
One previous owner
HID
Nakamichi
Moonroof
Non-air suspension

I've been catching up on maintenance: new tires, oil change, transmission fluid exchange, brake fluid exchange, drive belt, and air filter. Timing belt change may come this year. I'll probably keep it relatively stock, maybe get some 430 5 spokes later on. Below are a few pics.

Looks good, I have never seen this color anywhere in real life and I have 2 ls400s over the past 16 years.

looks good, a little on the high end for purchase price considering the timing belt needs to be done.

I think the price was fine for 85K miles and 6 months ago, especially a one owner Arizona car in a rare color which appears to be in tip top cosmetic condition.

because of the low humidity, Arizona cars tend to be the best preserved of any state in the nation, as long as they were garage kept out of the sun, and they command a nearly California level price premium due to the no-rust condition

that would be my #1 thing to do, even before the timing belt, those 98-00 wheels are the only ugly thing about this generation, the 430 wheels would make a huge difference in the looks department

Congrats! That's a decent price.

At least not like this one:

Thanks everyone. The price worked for me, the dealer originally listed it for $13k with 82.5k. Fortunately for me (and the rest of us here), not many people understand the incredible value of these 13+ year old cars and I don't think dealers are able to move them as quickly as used SUVs or econocars.

The craziest part is I sold my 2000 Jeep with 80k private party for $11k as they keep their value really well. After pre-sale maintenance on the Jeep and catch-up on the LS, it is probably a financial wash.

I wasn't looking for this particular color but this and the brown are probably my favorite 98-00 colors.

welcome and glad you did your homework before taking the jump! she is a pretty looking car, and i love the fact that AZ cars never get front plate holes, b/c running a front plate out there is not necessary!
