Default Coilover install

Just bought a set if megans coilover and I've read some coilover installation on the forum but it was for the gs and sc model so not quite sure if ls model the same. My question is for the rear do I need to remove the panel etc to get to the bolts or is it the rear seats? Also another thing is any tips/tricks on easiest way to do so and will I need to disconnect anything before performing the job, don't want to have any sensor turn on after installation.

for the LS, you need to remove the rear seats, no access from the trunk. just make sure you unbolt the brake line to prevent damage to it.

it's pretty much straight forward.. for the fronts, all you need to do is take off the main bolt that goes into the bottom of the shock. the rears, almost the same as the fronts. you gotta take out the main bolt on the bottom of the shock and remove the rear sway bar link nut. after that, it should all be a breeze.

oh yeah.. for more clearance to take out the stock struts in the fronts, you can simply turn the whole hub to either direction for more clearance. hope this helps.

rent a strut/spring compressor from autozone also, it will make getting the stock suspension out easier.

spring compressors are only worth the time if you have an air gun. wrenching that **** by hand will take forever. it's not really needed for taking out stock suspension, as all you need for clearance is to push down the hub/turn the hub to the side.

nope. just unplug the sensor and no need to disconnect the battery terminal.

you can do it without the spring compressor. that's how i did mine and it wasn't hard at all.

yup, once you undo the sway bar end link in the rear and the ball joint in the front, you actually have plenty of clearance to push the arms down. i was surprised at how much easier it was to install the coilovers on the ls400 than it is on my s2000 lol

Thanks for all the input guys! My coilovers just arrived today and will b putting them on this weekend! Any easiest way to remove back seat? When I put in my aftermarket sub and amp and ran wires I unbolt the bolts from headrest and all but I barely able to pull top half of seat forward. Any tips/tricks on removing them?

very easy to remove the back seats. the bottom seats come out by pulling the seats up and out. next, remove the left and right headrests which will then reveal where the hidden bolt is at (corner), it's held by velcro so lift it up to see the bolt. after that, you will need to take out the middle headrest. again the bolts will be hidden. should be 4 bolts that need to be removed for the middle headrest. last but not least, remove the bolts located at the bottom of the back seat. (should be 4).

after removing all the bolts, simply push the back seat up and out. before you start anything, you should remove the seatbelt clip from the seat (located on top of the back seat near the headrest). use a stubby philps screwdriver to remove 2 screws on each seatbelt clip (should be six total screws). this method is better than taking a flathead screwdriver to the clip. the seatbelt clips are very fragile and will break off if you put enough tension on them so it's just better to remove the whole seatbelt clip!

hope this helps!

I reserve judgement until we get a closer pic of the fenderwork.

looks like you overpulled to all hell though, what wheel setup are you planning on running?
