Head light lens
I have a 1998 Ls400 and the head light lens are turning opague. It appears to be film on the outside of the lens. I hear the off-the-shelf remedies do not work.
Any ideas? I am sure someone has had the same issues and have a solution.
Thanks!

Welcome to CL.
If the car had a clear bra applied over the lens, you can remove this film and apply another. If it is a bare lens, there are products to polish it up and remove some of the haze. The UV and wear from road grit is not easily reversed.
Post a pic up of the headlights so we have a better idea. With your post count, you will have to use an outside source to host the image and link it for us.

There have been several past threads about restoring even horrible looking plastic headlight lenses on the 98-up LS and making them look and operate like new. I used a Crystal View kit from Advance Auto several years ago: http://www.myheadlight.com/
If you use one of these lens refinishing kits do it when the air temperature is relatively cool - below 80 degrees - and do it in the shade. The last step in the Crystal View process is to apply a clear coat sealer which dries too quickly when it's hot.
I don't have "before" photos of my awful looking headlight lenses but they cleaned up very nicely with the Crystal View kit. Here are "after" photos.
