Default Safety issue

Any problems with the front end can become VERY dangerous in the wrong situation. Once restored a '77 Datsun 280Z, I didn't realize it at the time but the rack & pinion steering bushings (about the size of a donut) were disintegrating, never felt anything amiss in normal driving but one day while running thru a twisty road in the mountains I went into a low sweeping turn and hit a bump mid turn that set up the WORST oscillation in the front end I'd ever experienced, like a rowboat in a storm, the front end violently wobbled from side to side. At higher speeds I could have easily gone off the road. Once it stopped it felt 'normal' again. I'll take warped rotors over that any day.

learn to read. jason has a 2nd gen.

1LS strut rod bushings are relatively expensive because they are quite complicated, with a metal clamshell, pivot-style bearing, and the bushing material. 2LS strut rods are literally a single bushing on each side that gets pressed into the rod. OEMs are ~$60ish each side (bushing only) or ~$100/side for the complete bar/bushing. poly strut rod bushings are ~$35-40/side.
