Phone Removal
Hey guys
So, I'm not sure how many members here have a built in phone in their ls400, but I got one in mine, and I hate it!
For one, it looks ugly as ****, probably doesn't even work anymore, and it takes up too much space.
Is it possible to remove it? I can't find any bolts around it, except for a few, but I'm not sure if those will remove the phone kit or not.
Also, I got these buttons on the left side of my steering wheel for the phone, and I wonder if its possible to remove those also?
Any info on this will be much appreciated. Also, where I can find a thread that has pics of some of your ls's modded out? I'd love to see what you guys are doing with em, cause once I start makin money (gonna get my first paycheck next friday), I'm gonna begin working on my car.

Disassemble enough of the center console to get to the RJ14 connector plug that the handset connects to. You'll end up with a hole to the back of the console tray. I just bought some 2" wide adhesive backed velcro, cut it to size and used only the felt side of the velcro to cover the hole.

Ok well, thanks for the responses, I guess.
AzHotLS, I get the whole give a man a fish analogy, but you could've been a bit more helpful/informative, instead of sarcasm.
Turboomni, thanks for the support.
JimsGX, thanks for actually helping with info and links.
I did manage to remove the phone before even checking here for a response. I was too impatient. I was able to remove the screws and the phone out and all that. I got 4 holes though, cause of where the screws used to be, so I gotta try to figure out how to cover those. Probably us something, but won't be the same velcro* material that is inside.
As for that giant hole in the back. I might just end up covering it with something, I'm gonna figure that **** out tomorrow.
Again, thanks you guys.

Guys lets keep the responses on the topic of the OP's question please (some inappropriate posts removed) and please be constructive and helpful in your replies rather than just 'use search'.

As an example of how I'd suggest a request to 'use search' reply below.
Incredible, we have nearly 10 years of history on Club Lexus and just about every question has been asked in the past. You can get instant answers with no waiting by using the forum advanced search feature from the top menu bar and targeting the LS400 forum.
Once in advanced search, select the LS400 search and try a few keywords. For example
"remove phone" found the following threads among many others.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...t-console.html
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...-ls-400-a.html
here is a direct link to search

I agree these 'search' postings are increasing..its becoming like a fashion trend on the LS400 threads...lol...
I've been guilty of it before
