Default sunroof (leaking)

My sunroof leaks even when its closed all the way and i dont no where to start. Do sunroofs have like a litle hose that like goes under your headliner to take the water out like a drain pipe if so do i just thave to clean or replacet it or do they have a ruber seal that goes around sunroof that goes bad. Can someone help me understand the whole workings of a sunroof.Thank you guys for help

I had this problem on a 93 LS before. There are drain holes (if you open the sunroof, you can see them). You can blow air through the holes with an air compressor. After I cleared them, there was no more leaking!

Confirmed...
I had the same issue, and went to a company that "fixes" sunroofs, and the guy told me that the factory sunroof never leaks, only the water drain holes clouge up...

After cleaning them, no more leaks.

Hey, I have a LS400 1993 also and I have the same problem with water coming in, the floor behind the driver seat is soaked. Thanks for the advise on taking an air hose and blowing it out.

if the sunroof never leaks, where does the water come from that goes down the drain holes?

the seals between the sunroof and the interior dont leak unless there's enough water presure in the channels (caused back backed up water from the clogged drain channels) to overwhelm the seals.

Yeah, another words the rubber around the sunroof cover is only allowing the amout of water that can safely drain down the drain holes...

P.S.Sorry, my English (expressing myself) - sucks

If you have a weed wacker use the line or go to Lowes and buy some, its great for cleaning out the plastic tubes, there are four of them (two in the front two in the back.

Yup, most sunroofs aren't designed to seal perfectly. The seals keep most of the water out, but drainage systems take care of the rest. When it doesn't drain, water leaks in.

Helped deal with an F150 that had the rear drainage tray fall off. Naturally, we didn't think much of the occasional drip until we had a couple inches of rain overnight drench the driver's side interior.

Default Leaking sunroof 98LS

So, I was sitting in my Lexus after I had been driving around in the rain, then the overhead main light assembally (where the sunroof control is) started to not just leak, but drain on to the wood grain. Luckily I had a roll of shop towels and used half the roll cleaning up the mess. Do I need to blow out the drain holes, reconnect the drain hose, what do you guys think.
