Best shocks and Swaybar bushings for 92 LS400?
What is the best shocks for a '92 LS400? I know everyone raves about the Bilstein HD's but on their website, they only date back to 1995. Do the 95's and newer have a different suspension layout?
The only shocks I have found for the '92 LS400 is KYB (which are currently on the car and blown - not impressed) and Monroe. I can't find Koni's for the LS400.
What vendor does everyone at Club Lexus go to?
I tried searching, but all the threads are in regards to '95+ cars, and only 1 post said to go directly from bilstein for the best pricing (http://www.bilstein.com/mistore/ymm_...reYMM=storeYMM).
Also, where does everyone go/where can I find polyurethane front swaybar bushings from?
Thank you!

The car has Eibach lowering springs (not Proline), do you think the Tokico HP "Blue" shocks would be a good option? In your opinion are they better than the KYB?

Do you recommend the KYBs over the Tokico "Blue" shocks?
I wasn't too impressed with the KYBs. They worked well for the first 10K miles, but then degraded until completely blown 40-50K miles later.

They were good for a bit over 10K miles, but now I have almost 50K miles on them and they are completely blown. I'm leaning towards the Tokico Blues to try something different unless someone can chime in with more advice.

Care to send a link or briefly explain why a 95+ application will blow on a 1st gen? (since you have 11,000 posts).

2nd gen shocks/coils have longer strut length and will blow quickly on 1st gen cars since the shock/coilover is far too out of operating spec.
1st gen shocks/coils will work on both 1st and 2nd gen cars since it just means that when used on 2nd gen cars you can't adjust as HIGH but remains easily withing operating parameters.

I have... 11,000 posts is a lot
So are the 2nd gen dosn't have enough bump travel and thus bottom out -causing them to blow out when used on 1st gen?

I am a trucker by profession, hence the screen name, so for the most part my car is only driven on the weekends. When I originally lowered my car I did it on H&R's with Tokico Blues. Long story short, I went thru 2 complete sets of these shocks in UNDER 4 months (keep in mind my car only moved on the weekends). The overall ride was VERY mushy. The car had a tendency to bottom out on dips often, and it just felt really sloppy overall. I have been on my KYB's now for almost 2 years and while it is a little stiffer than stock, I have not been disappointed. The ride feels alot better, a little rough over bumps, but remember this car is almost 2 tonsin weight too. The ride is strong, I RARELY bottom out at all (dips, speed bumps included), and that mushy, sloppy feling has gone from my suspension.
Some members here like the Tokico's, I personally don't. Just depends on what kind of ride quality you are personally looking for. I am going the coilover route next.

My tokicos did, but I was so disgusted with them(ride quality, mushy feel, etc), I just wanted them off my car (didnt last 500 miles between 2 sets). Am sure my KYB's are under warranty as well.
Right now, my rears are blown, but in all honesty,, I was not gentle on those shocks at all, and as I mentioned, the roads here in MD are not that great for lowered cars. They took a beating and kept it moving. Any lowered car is gonna wear out shocks faster than being at OEM height. Coilovers are better for longevity b/c the assemblies were engineered to work perfectly with one another; not to mention the adjustability. Mix/matching parts (Tokico with Tanabe,,KYB with H&R) while it will work together will wear out eventually a little faster than OEM. Had my car not been lowered, me running low profile setups, etc,,, I would be a little more upset about blowing the shocks.
Oh to answer the bushing question,, my car has the Daizen bushings installed.
