Where's the headlamp level module?
Hi all,
I have a 98 LS400 and I've been dealing with that annoying headlamp levelling message on the dash for some time now...rather than pay for another sensor (which I'm sure is the problem), I want to simply unplug the headlamp leveling module. The question is, where is it? I'm looking under the dash on the driver's side where the fuse box is located, but I can't find it.
Anyone know?
Thx

The module is the motor on the back of the headlight. If it goes off their is no way to shut it down . It can be from the motor slipping off the mount inside that is push/pulls. twist the motor and it will remove from the headlights to check.

I'm actually looking for the location of the headlamp level ECU, which I understand is somewhere behind the dash. And I plan to set the beams to my desired level and then unplug the ECU, thereby permanently deactivating the headlamp motors and setting the beam level in place.
I got the idea off another forum and even though the cheap fix was for the IS model, it should work the same on the LS. Read this thread and you'll get what I mean:

i just need to find the headlamp level ecu behind the dash to do this.
Thx
