Drive Belt Pulley may be going south...
...I've noticed some metal shavings on the front of my engine, and then a loud high pitched sound in the morning. I've traced the source to the drive belt pulley (is this what's its called)?
Anyone have similar problems? Was this a dealer only part or were you able to source it somewhere? How much $$$ we talking here?
TIA.

I got mine here for $53 It is really easy to change. Get a new belt at the same time.. they are $24-35. take the tention off the belt, take off the belt, remove the idler, and replace it... do not CRANK down on the bolt when yo tighten it up... just good and snug or use a torque wrench and find th spec for it in the manual. I think I had to reuse the old washer.. the new pulley does not come with a new bolt, and i think the old washer worked better.. been a while... just keep the original parts and check it all out before discarding them.

The Tentioner assembly is this one. $57. This one is more difficult tochange since it is sandwitched between the Alt, and PS pump.

Cool beans. Thx to those that helped.
BTW, partsamerica.com owns Kragen, Schucks, and all those damned stores. So you don't have to wait for them to be shipped, you can go into your local store and they can order them for you there. My pulley was ready for pickup next day.
Also, that damned metal on metal sound is gone. Next to do is my power steering pump, and God its nasty.
