The somewhat high mileage on these cars is a non issue on a well maintained LS 400.
With that said, everybody has an opinion on its worth.
I let kbb.com guide me and searched until I found one at least 15% below KBB.
Good luck,
Eddie

I was commenting on the actual mileage given most people might balk at a car with 100,000+ miles. Most people look at miles as a gauge of life used and life left, and not age. Also, there are a boatload of used cars that should not be bought with that many miles.
kbb.com allows one to enter selling zip code to help account for regional differences in prices so the OP doesn't have to think about if your worth estimate (7250ish) while in CA is applicable to him or her in NY.

what are you talking about? industry average mileage is ~12k mi/year.
at 108 for a 12 year old car comes out to right around 9k/year.
given a STOCK car with that mileage, here in socal you're prolly looking at around 6500-8000 range with a buy price at about 7250ish.

to give you an idea i just bought a 96 ls with 90k just this past sat. i live in va and the car was selling in pa. at a dealership. it was a 1 owner car that was garage kept the interior is perfect and so it the paint only a couple small chips on the hood. oh and also it had clean history and fully loaded too. i used to sell cars for a lil over a year and the dealership was asking 11k. Dealers have something called a black book which works just like the blue book but tells the dealer what the car is worth to them so they can buy at a low price and turn for high profit, the black book on this car was 6-6.5k. and i asked how long the car was on the lot and it had been there since sept 07. These are the 2 biggest things you can know when buying a car and will help you get the biggest negotiation. Also ask anything and everything you can about the car, unfortunately the only way to get black book is to know someone who works in the business, so start making friends....anyways long story short i told him what i knew the car was bought for and i offered him 7.5k he told me no so i walked and said i'd be back cuz i know the car isnt going anywhere (since i know its been there since sept), he immediately stopped me called the manager and told me he'd sell it to me for 8k which is what i wanted to pay anyways
