Starter bad?
We have a LS-400 with 230K. It runs great. Took a short trip to the store and on trip back it would not start. By that I mean it there was nothing when the ignition key was turned......no sound of even the starter trying to turn over the engine. The battery was fine and I checked all the fuses and they were fine.
Is this a common problem that someone might have some clues for hopefully something I can fix myself? Is this an obvious starter replacement and is that a DIY job?
thanks for any tips

I am not sure what year your car is, but even on the 1990-94 LS400, its a pretty time consuming task, as part of the engine has to be removed.
You may just want to be sure that its not a loose connection @ the starter.

I just got another bit if info. its my sons car. He said the alarm when off and then it would not start. (I didnt even know it had one). Is there some sort of reset for alarm if is disables the car?

Lead Lap
You reset the alarm by sticking the key in the driver's door and turning to the right, this will deactivate the theft deterrent feature.
