I paid a high price for a low mileage, grandpa driven 1990 LS400 so my car doesn't have any major mechanical wear and tear and so has not needed anything major replaced except for the alternator which was oil soaked by a leaking power steering pump. I put a plastic cover on the new alternator to protect it from the leaking oil and just periodically top off the power steering pump reservoir until I get a chance to change the leaking pump.

Timing Belt, Tentioner, Idler Pullery, Crank Shaft Sensors, Waterpump, Trans Flush, tune Up : $1,800
thats a LOT more than what you should have paid, iirc a buddy of mine had it done for <$1200 from a dealer exluding the trans flush.
