i was wondering if the Day time running lights could be removed on a 99 ls400. if so how. without disconnecting the high beams

but isnt the DRL on a UCF20 car just the high beams on at half-wattage?

Yes, they are the same bulbs as the high beams, and he doesnt want to do that.

I know on the IS, they can be removed by unpluging something near the battery, but never really heard from anyone with an LS.

remove the passener highbeam light bulb and your DRL's will turn off, but the only set back is that you will only have 1 light when you flash your highbeams. if you want it done correctly, a hardwire needs to be put into the system to override this, you can contact Steve @ Luxury Motorworks (626) 256-4849 over here in So Cal and they can help you out.
