"Upgrade" from phillips 85122+
So I have a set of 85122+ in my LS. I bought them just to freshen up the 8 yr old bulbs that were in there. I've been very happy with them. For 100 bucks from TRS, they have been awesome. I've been reading about the osram night breaker unlimited,CBI's and the phillips xtreme vision d2s variants. I am happy with the light output, but wouldn't mind a true upgrade.
Shocking claims in regard to nearly twice the output is interesting, but compared to what? A car with dying ten year old bulbs? What about a guy like me who has very fresh 85122+ already in his car? Should I be throwing away 200 bucks? I want the best output possible. I want a real upgrade- hot spot, coverage etc. I'm not one of those guys who are clueless and "upgrade" to higher temps just because the temp is a higher number. the CBI would be the highest I would go in K. THE higher k does intrigue me with the contrast it provides, but may not fair well in inclement weather.
Who has the scoop?
Should I just stick with what I've got or should I "upgrade" 200 is a lot I think, especially if my bulbs are not dimming at all.. Maybe if my bulbs were shot- I could justify.......anybody out there that can persuade me one way or the other?

The CBIs are about (at most) 200 lumens brighter than your current bulbs (on spec sheets).
If you think 200 lumens will make a difference, go for it. Odds are, you will not notice the "upgrade".
You will notice whiter light though, if that matters.
I'd hold off on it until your current set needs replacing - by then the price may drop?
(You're probably better off getting 55w Morimoto ballasts)
