Ferrari officially claimed the 599 GTO is capable of lapping Nurburgring in 7:19, but there was never any proof of that.
I firmly believe when Lexus finally attempts to get the best lap time, Akira Iida will make sure it is around 7:18 - 7:19.
You can see the list here on fastestlap:

The LFA is 4th production street car on this list.
The three cars ahead of it ALL used Michelin Sports Cup Semi-slick racing tires to get their best times, them made the tires apart of their OEM units, to help legitimize their times.
LFA used street performance Bridgestone Potenzas RE70.
The Michelins cut 6-7 seconds off the ZR1 and GT2 RS times

That is correct.
All of the cars ahead of the LFA are wearing competition DOT super-slick tires (not sem-slicks, which are what 'ring edition wears).
So it is a fair statement to say, LFA is the fastest exotic/supercar to lap the Nurburgring without competition DOT super-slick tires.

Lexus says it's about as fast as the 24hr car. That is capable of 7:05 with calculating it's additional time of the GP course. I believe them. The current lap video looked effortless in a good way. Even the Z06 was able to do 7:22's, This LFA IMO is a much more capable car with more downforce and more HP. Finding 7 seconds around that track isn't as hard as it sounds.

That's news to me. Any link to that quote? I would imagine the race car has massive aerodynamic advantage to the road car, although the road car has the advantage of higher horsepower.
On race tires, of course.

Z06 was on super-slick racing tires. On normal street tires, it would be a completely different story.
On stock Potenza RE70, without the super-slick tires, 7:18 is the best we can hope for and in-line with what Lexus initially claimed the car will be capable of. No chance the LFA will do better in its best run. Not going to happen.
