Levinson audio melted my LOC
swapped my sub system out of my old 07 IS 350(W nav only) to my 08 ISF (w M/L NAV)...sub amp and LOC....played fine for a few days, this morning noticed a smell( not a good one, like electronics burning)....when I was checking all my connections, fount the LOC had melted from the sub output being too powerful for it...has anyone had this happen, and what LOC is everyone running on their levinson audio system

never had that issue, then again, I don't have a levinson amp.
another reason why I recommend amps with speaker-level inputs. my amp can sense when the radio turns on from speaker-level inputs as well- one less wire to worry about lol

what converters are you guys using? I only see problems in the really low end versions...come on a 30k car a $10 line out converter? a decent converter is going to run about 30 bucks look into the pac-audio SOEM-T..it should feel most of your line out converter needs including and turn on...the only issue I've ever run into using these are if the car has any form of sound processing(ASL) you may need to unplug the microphones as to avoid a feedback loop

Did a little more research to guide your purchase a little more if you need to upgrade your interior speakers go lc8i to I used the lcq1 when after I cooked a few LOCs. As for my previous suggestion I recently realized the lcq1 doesn't have enough channels to support the ml system. If you want to just upgrade the sub use lc2i.
