Default after market sub and amp combos?

i have an 07 lexus es 350 with the ultra luxury and ML system I've noticed that the ML seems to bottom out when listing to songs with lows sounds to cheap for a system that cost a lot as an option Ive owned a couple subs for my other car started of with a jl audio w1 now i have an alpine type x. not looking for anything crazy just some suggestions for a good combo that will hit nice and deep and sound great.

Any way you what to upgrade for this car is 100% better than the stock sub. I have the 08 UL with ML and i changed the sub to my old setup: kicker DX350 with a sealed 12 inch Image dynamic and the bass is 100% better. One downfall with upgrading the sound system, everything WILL rattles in the car, so you have to dynamat some areas.

I agree with the bass issue, I have a 2011 UL with ML and I'm looking at removing the ML sub leaving the opening as a port, running the speaker leads into a AudioControl LC2i converter then to a Boston Acoustics mono amp and series 3 10" in a custom box built into the left rear portion of the trunk (I need space for strollers etc.). I hope to do this in Jan. I'll update you all once I get going on this.

What's your budget? Do you have any ideas on what you are looking for? 8" sealed? 18" ported for an SPL monster?

I have no rattling issues and I'm running a 12" sub very similar to this. The motor is the same diameter but with a smaller gap. David at PSI built the recone for me flat wound copper coils and extended the excursion to about 22mm one way. Inductance is a very low .5mh. In the following video we were playing around with excursion and just trying to break it in before pulling the Theile/Small parameters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JurlYc9rcw
