2004 es330 Radio Wiring
I purchased a Bluetooth Motorola IHF1000 hands free car kit. . It has the option of ..
Audio Mute (-) and Audio (+ & -) to have the cell phone audio come out the stock sound system instead the aftermarket speaker.
Questions ?
Does the 2004 es330 radio (no Nav) support this ?
If so …does any one have a wiring diagram of the Es330 Stock System ?
or are there any other options that you guys can think of … i.e. 2006 Es330 radio ??
Thanks
Andy

I usually recommend that new users learn how to use the advanced search feature of this forum. If you search for the word "mute" you will find many past threads dealing connecting an aftermarket phone kit to mute the radio when a call is in progress.
However, I've been following this particular issue on this and other Lexus forums closely for a long time. I don't remember a thread that dealt with installing an aftermarket phone kit in a relatively new ES330. There are quite a few threads about installing phone kits in other lexus models.
One thing I have noticed is that there seems to be no consistency in mute point wire colors among the various Lexus models.
A recent thread on this forum (about an RX?) was one of few I have seen where someone successfully connected his phone kit to play to call through the radio speakers.
It was fairly straight forward to wire a phone kit's mute wire on older Lexus cars that were prewired for Lexus phones or LexusLink. On my 00 LS, there is a mute point (and power, antenna, etc.) on a connector under the center console. (On our 98 Camry, pin 4 on head unit's CD port is the mute.)
My recommendation is to either find a top notch phone installer or get a hold of the electrical diagram for your car. There is likely at least one mute point somewhere.
As for playing the phone call through the radio speakers, it is easier (and less risky) to install a separate speaker for the phone kit.
Perhaps your Lexus dealer can help you. An dealer employee printed the portion of the electrical diagram that showed the color of the mute wire on my LS. And there is always http://techinfo.lexus.com/ at $10/day.
Hope this helps...

the 2006 es330 radio doesant supoort bluetooth either.but i have a 2006 toyota navigation that supports bluetooth and it has a 4 disc cd player behind the scrreen but that model probably not available in es330 until 2007. it fits perfectly in the es330 navigation trim bezell. email if your interested in one. pioneersuby@woh.rr.com. why the lesser toyota models get the new navigation unit over lexus is not understood. probably has to do with the make over cycle of each model every 4 or 5 years.

Remove the glove box once removed look to the upper right hand corner. There will be the factory amplifier. blue/yellow is battery/constant, gray is ignition, blue is mute, whithe/black is ground. Front left door speaker +red/blue - is white/blue. The constant and ign are at the top of the plug. Hope this help you out.
