Default Does anyone make a back up of the GPS memory card?

I am wondering if anyone take out the gps memory card and make a copy as a back up.
I heard the card is very expensive to be replaced if it is damaged or stolen. However, I am very hesitated to mess up anything inside the card.

The file system is encrypted, but you should be able to do a low level bit copy using something like dd on Unix or Linux systems. What I want to know if a dd copied device would then work in another car or not.

Just use CarbonCopy to clone the sd card on to another.
